To provide a parallel hybrid drive unit which can adjust the flow rate thereof by freely changing the rotational speed of a hydraulic pump, and can drive the pump only by a motor generator without providing a clutch on an output shaft of an engine.
The parallel hybrid drive unit (50) is provided with the engine (31), the motor generator (33) having both functions of a generator and a motor, electric storage devices (35, 36) electrically connected to the motor generator (33), and the fixed-capacity pump (38). The parallel hybrid drive unit is composed of a differential device (43) in which a ring gear (40) engages in the output shaft (32) of the engine (31), a first side gear (41) is connected to an output shaft (34) of the motor generator (33), and a second side gear (42) is connected to an input shaft (39) of the fixed-capacity pump (38). Then the rotational speed of the engine (31) and the rotational speed of the motor generator (33) are operated by a controller (52), to thereby adjust the rotational speed of the fixed-capacity pump (38).
