Title:
PARALLEL IMAGE CONVERTER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0218528
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To enable nearby image arithmetic and to expand arithmetic processing capability by dividing an input image into two by a two-dividing means, and then putting arithmetic image information light images from two two-dimensional array light sources and the divided images together and performing arithmetic processing. CONSTITUTION:The input image 1 is inputted to the two-dividing means 2 consisting of half-mirrors (or prism) 3, 4, 5, etc., and divided into two. The divided images which are divided by the two-dividing means 2 are put together by image composing means 8 and 9 with arithmetic information light from the two-dimensional array light sources 6 and 7 corresponding to image processing filters on respective divided light paths. Those image composing means 8 and 9 are composed of half-mirrors (or prism). The two right and left composed images are inputted to an arithmetic means 10 and processed (by subtraction) to output an output image 11. Thus, the image processing is performed at a fast arithmetic speed by utilizing the parallelism of light and the processing capability of the nearby images processing wherein positive/ negative processing is performed, specially, for filtering.
