Abstract:
PURPOSE:To detect whether or not there is a moving body and its moving direction by providing a stimulative signal path and a repressible signal path to which the output signal of an edge extraction cell layer is inputted and forming an element which inputs the outputs of both paths. CONSTITUTION:A photoelectric conversion cell layer is formed by arranging photoelectric converting elements 2 on the image formation surface of a photographic lens 1 in two dimensions and the edge extraction cell layer 3 is formed by arranging threshold elements in two dimensions; and the respective threshold elements receive the outputs out of plural cells of the photoelectric converting cell elements 2 and output signals equal to a function of the weighted sum of the reception inputs. Plural outputs of threshold elements are selected in a linear array and divided into two; and one is used as a stimulative signal and the other is used as a repressible signal to form an element which generates an output corresponding to the movement of an edge. Consequently, whether or not there is the moving body in a visual field and its moving direction are detected.
