Abstract:
PURPOSE:To rapidly perform a decision by extracting the partial feature of an input image and deciding the similarity of the extracted feature by using optical parallel processing. CONSTITUTION:In a reference shape feature extracting part 10, a character is projected on a display 1 and the projected light is converted into parallel beams by a projection lens 2 and led into a 1st lens array 3. The lens array 3 is provided with many image forming lenses 3a consisting of refractive index distribution type fine lenses. The 1st mask array having a reference mask 6a is arranged on the rear face of an image forming face 5 and light passed through the mask array is detected by a 1st sensor array through a 2nd lens array 7. An output corresponding to the reference feature is projected on a vector display 31 in a vector identification part 40 through a register/display driver 28 and similarly compared with a 2nd mask array 35 to decide the similarity.
