Title:
PARTIAL OXIDATION OF HYDROCARBON AND CATALYST FOR PARTIAL OXIDATION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3777437
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for partially oxidizing hydrocarbon in the presence of hydrogen and oxygen so that alcohol and/or ketone and epoxide can be obtd. from satd. hydrocarbon and unsatd. hydrocarbon, respectively, at high selectivity and high rates of conversion and a catalyst suitable for use in the partial oxidation.
SOLUTION: This catalyst for partial oxidation contains gold, titanium dioxide and a carrier having ≥50m2/g specific surface area. The carrier is preferably silicon dioxide and/or aluminum oxide. The gold content of this catalyst is preferably 0.005-5wt.%. Hydrocarbon is partially oxidized in the presence of the catalyst for partial oxidation, hydrogen and oxygen. The reaction temp. is preferably in the range of 100-250°C.
