To provide a particle-agglomerated type monolithic organic porous article suitable for use in an absorbent which is chemically stable, exhibits a reduced pressure loss for liquid permeation and has a large absorption capacity and an ion exchanger which is chemically stable, exhibits a reduced pressure loss for liquid permeation and a large ion exchange capacity, its manufacturing process, a monolithic organic porous ion exchanger and a chemical filter.
The particle-agglomerated type monolithic organic porous article has a skeletonic portion in which organic polymer particles having a diameter of 1-50 μm and crosslinking structural units are agglomerated and three-dimensionally connected, three-dimensionally communicated pores with a size of 20-100 μm in the skeleton, a total pore volume of 1-5 ml/g, a thickness of ≥5 mm and 1-5 mole% of the crosslinking structural units in the total constitutional units constituting the organic polymer particles.
