Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a particulate thermoplastic olefin polymer elastomer excellent in handleability and impact resistance.
CONSTITUTION: This particle is made of a random copolymer of ethylene and either at least one 3-20C a-olefin or at least two 3-12C olefins. The particles have an average particle diameter of 150-3,000μm and a bulk density of 0.2-0.5g/cc. The particles, when analyzed by temp.-programmed dissolution fractionation using D-dichlorobenzene solvent, has a content of components dissolved at 0°C of 30-95wt.%, a content of components dissolved at 0-50°C, excluding 0 and 50°C, of 0-50wt.%, and a content of components dissolved at 50-120°C of 5-30wt.%. The copolymer has a proportion of boiling-hexaneextractables as determined by 13C-NMR of 0.5-1.5, and the extractables have an Mw/Mn ratio as determined by GPC of 1.5-3.5.
