PURPOSE: To enable to easily stabilize a pH of treated water near to neutral by adding to and depositing on a substance having buffer action to particularte activated carbon.
CONSTITUTION: A substance having buffer action such as disodium phosphate or the like is added to and deposited on particulate activated carbon in a ratio of about 1W0.001% pre, about 0.1W0.01% in a form of an aqueous solution or the like. When a waste water such as a usual waste water or the like is treated by using the obtained added and deposited particulate activated carbon, treated water of which a pH is always stabilized near to neutral is obtained. Therefore, pH readjustment carried out in conventional treated water is not necessitated. Said added and deposited particulate activated carbon can be used in treating sewage treatment and special industrial waste water other than usual waste water treatment.
