PURPOSE: To devise the reduction of the apparatus cost as well as the operating cost by implementing a plurality of processes simultaneously using at least two kinds of particles having different activities in the same apparatus.
CONSTITUTION: The particulate agent is composed of at least two kinds of particles with different activities, so that the weight and/or the particle size of each particles are to fall within separate ranges. A NOX reduction catalyst particle and a SOX absorbing particle or the like are used as the particulate agent. After receiving the particulate agent in a reaction chamber (5), a fluid such as a gas containing NOX and SOX or the like is allowed to flow through the chamber (5), where these substances are processed chemically and/or physically. The particulate agent, when its activity is lowered, is transferred to a cyclone (9) where it is separated into NOX reducing particles and SOX absorbing particles, each of which is regenerated for its recycling use.
