Abstract:
To provide a partition device which can inhibit damage of a drive part when a load is applied to a tray and secure user's safety, and to provide an image formation device including the partition device.SOLUTION: A partition device includes: a base part; a tray part; and a tray drive part. The tray drive part has: a motor; a support shaft; an input gear; an output member; and a biasing member and reciprocates the tray part in a sheet width direction. The input gear has a first boss part rotatably supported by the support shaft, is rotated by a rotational driving force of the motor, and can reciprocate in a vertical direction along the support shaft. The output member has a second boss part connected to an upper end of the first boss part of the input gear through a ratchet mechanism and outputs a driving force to the tray part. In the ratchet mechanism, engagement between first ratchet teeth and second ratchet teeth is released by the input gear being pressed down against a biasing force of an elastic member when a predetermined load or larger load is applied to the output member through the tray part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
