A runner 18 is mounted sideways inside a rising part 5 of the back plate 4 and the upper end part of the slide door 45 is fixed on door plate receiving fittings 30 slidably retained on the runner 18 to make the furniture 72 with the slide door. When a stopper is released, the furniture is movable with the casters 58. The furniture 72 with the slide door placed at a specified position of a floor surface 8 can be used as a partition. The slide door 45 is housed (a) and (b) overlapping the rear (the back plate 4) of the furniture 1 and can pass through a path 76 being unseen from the front side. When the slide door 45 is pulled in the direction of the arrow 74, the slide door 45 can shut down (c) 30 the path 76 keeping the side rim 54 thereof in contact with a wall 77.
