A component selecting device 1 includes a display part 2 for displaying on a screen a three-dimensional model constituted of a plurality of components, an input part 3 for inputting a position of a cursor to be displayed on the screen, and a determining part 4 for determining whether the position of the cursor exists on the three-dimensional model or not. The device 1 also includes an extracting part 5 for extracting a plurality of components existing on a normal line on the screen passing the position of the cursor when the position of the cursor exists on the three-dimensional model. The component selecting device 1 further includes a detecting part 6 for detecting the existence of an indication to be inputted from an external part when the position of the cursor exists on the three-dimensional model. The component selecting device 1 further includes a deleting part 7 for deleting the component existing at the forefront part of the screen among the extracted components from the screen based on the existence of the indication.
