In a traveling history accumulating system 1, a position of a mobile object is detected first by a GPS 11 at an onboard device 10 side, and then a passage node determining device 13 detects the passage of a specific node in reference to a digital map DB 12 on the basis of the position of the mobile object, and stores the same in a storage device 14 as the information of a passage route. The information is transmitted to a server device 20 through a communication device 15 and a communication device 21, and temporarily stored in a storage device 22. In an index DB 23, a predetermined section of the passage route with an index is stored, an index creating unit 25 refers the same to convert the information temporarily stored in the storage device 22, into the information all or a part of which is described by the index, and records the same in the traveling history DB 24. The contents recorded in the traveling history DB 24 is retrieved by a traveling history retrieving device 26 with the index DB 23.
