A cylinder 10 is formed above the main valve element 12 of the passage selector valve by a partition member 13, an upper plate 15 and a valve housing. The cylinder 10 is partitioned into a chamber A and a chamber B by a piston 12C of the main valve element 12. A high pressure refrigerant is introduced to the cylinder 10 by high pressure introducing ports 12Aa and 12Ab. A low pressure chamber in a skirt pat 12A1 of the main valve element 12 is alternatively conducted to an A port 12a and a B port 12b by a rotary port of a pilot solenoid valve, and a pressure difference is applied between the chamber A and the chamber B. The piston 12C is moved by the pressure difference to rotate the main valve element 12. When switching a passage by vertically moving and rotating the main valve element by the pressure difference between the upper chamber A and the lower chamber B of the valve element, a low pressure side port of a chamber B side main valve seat is closed to prevent a pressure drop in the chamber B.
