Abstract:
To produce instant food capable of being cooked with a microwave oven and having no tendency of forming clumps when added with water, etc., by packaging pre-cooked pasta product having a specific density and a specific degree of gelatinization in a container.
This instant food containing sauce which requires only minimal stirring and is hydratable is produced by packaging at least a single serving of partially pre-cooked pasta product having a density ca. 0.6-1.05 g/cc, a degree of gelatinization 15-80% and pref. a cooked yield ca. 315-450%, and capable of being cooked in a short time in a container improved in cooking properties in a microwave oven.
