Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a paste for coating a substrate, improved in technical suitability, or the like, by dispersing a specified powder material in water and mixing the dispersion with a water-dilutable nonionic fluidity-improving additive.

CONSTITUTION: There is provided a paste for coating a substrate, containing a powder material selected among metals, metal compounds, metal alloys, boron, and carbon and being present in a dispersion, wherein the dispersion used is a water-based one containing a water-dilutable nonionic fluidily improving additive and containing no binder and no organic solvent. The solid content of this paste is desirably 5-95 wt.%. Desirably, the components contained in this dispersion should be selected so that the solid formed when the paste is heat-treated to 550°C does not contain any organic residue.
