To make a granular particle kind change quick and easily and to improve the reliability of pasteurization processing by forming the pasteurization processing part of a container, in which granular particles are sealed and stored so as to be freely taken in/out, from an antiseptic radiation ray transmissive material and irradiating this container with antiseptic radiation rays while rotating it.
A cylindrical container 1 for sealing and storing the granular particles to be pasteurized is composed of a cylindrical body 7 opened on both the sides of a cylinder axis direction and plug members to be attached/detached to both the openings so that the granular particles can be freely taken in/out. This cylindrical body 7 is formed from an ultraviolet ray transmissive material such as crystal glass, for example, for transmitting ultraviolet rays radiated from an ultraviolet lamp 4. Then, the cylindrical container 1 is freely attachably and detachably held by a container holding means 2 while keeping its lateral attitude. The cylindrical body 7 is rotated by rotating this container holding means 2 through a motor 3, the ultraviolet rays are radiated from the ultraviolet lamp 4, and granular particles are pasteurized. Thus, the kind of granular particles can be easily and speedily changed and pasteurization efficiency is improved.
