The patient gets on the top plate 8 of a stretcher 5a in the state of lying on his/her back. After the stretcher 5a is moved to the vicinity of the radiographing bed 1, the top plate 8 is elevated and lowered by an elevating and lowering means 7 and matched with the height of the radiographing bed 1. Thereafter, a moving top plate 8b on the base part 8a of the top plate 8 is horizontally moved in the direction of the radiographing bed 1 and the patient is examined. Guide groove 18 and 21 are formed at the base part 8a of the top plate 2 of the radiographing bed 1, and by rotating rollers 19 provided on the moving top plate 8b along the guide grooves 18 and 21, the moving top plate 8b is guided in the direction of the radiographing bed 1.
