PURPOSE: To cope with the multiplication of color and the complication of pattern of costume by cutting and stacking patterned cloths on an arbitrary position on a cloth stacking table while matching the patterns of the cloths.

CONSTITUTION: The pattern-matching and stacking operation of cloths having pattern is carried out as follows. Cloth (m) is successively brought into contact with a sheet folding lever (e), a blade rest (f) and a guide plate (i) and pressed with a cloth press (g). A roller brace (a) is put on, a sheet brake (j) is taken off and the folding lever (e) is forwarded to transfer the cloth (m) upward to the part near the left end of a cloth stacking table (b). The brake (a) is taken off, the brake (j) is put on and the brake (a) is moved leftward while loosening the cloth press (g) to move the folding lever (e) rightward. Since an endless belt sheet (d) is immobile, the cloth (m) is lowered to the stacking table (b), engaged with an inclined face (k) and cut with a cutter (h) to form stacked cloths (m'). The brake (a) is further moved leftward from the above state to shift the folding lever (e) rightward and the procedures similar to the above are repeated to stack other cut cloths (m") to the right of the stacked cloths (m').
