Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a memory capacity for a recognizing dictionary, to reduce a calculation quantity for recognition and to attain recognizing performance equivalent to conventional one.
SOLUTION: An evaluation value is calculated by successively inputting many learning patterns from a data inputting part 11 at the time of a dictionary learning mode, extracting an n-dimensional feature vector from the learning patterns by a feature extraction part 12 every time, furthermore selecting an m-dimensional feature vector (m<n) from the n-dimensional feature vector through the use of a feature selecting dictionary 16 by a feature selection part 13 and collating the selected feature vector and a recognition dictionary 17 (each reference vector in it) by a recognition part 14. Then recognizing processing outputting a recognizing candidate in an order based on the calculating result is executed, the degree of erroneous recognition is detected by a recognition dictionary correcting part 18 based on the result of the recognition processing and the recognition dictionary 17 is corrected so as to reduce he degree of the erroneous recognition. These series of processings are repeated previously fixed number of times.
