Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a vehicle run continuously within designed speed or limit speed and ensure safe running of the vehicle if its speed is within predetermined speed by providing a paved face having a waveform shape in the vertical direction and a difference in phase in the cross direction on a surface of a road.
SOLUTION: A paved face having a waveform shape in the vertical direction and a difference in phase in the cross direction is provided on a surface of a road to constitute a hump, namely, a paved body for suppressing running speed of a vehicle. Next, a typical example of the waveform shape is a sine wave shape, and in the case of sine wave shape, the optimum values can be selected in accordance with limit speed in a scope of wavelength of 5 to 35 meters, wave height of 10 to 130mm, number of wavelength of 2 to 10, and a difference in phase of 5° to 80°. Then, the hump is formed into a waveform shape so that speed suppression effect which makes the vehicle run within designed speed or limit speed is obtained not as local effect but as continuous effect. Consequently, it is possible to ensure safe running of the vehicle without causing adverse effect such as the collapse of cargo with respect to safety if speed of the vehicle which advances without noticing the existence of the hump is predetermined speed.
