Abstract:
To provide a fan engine for a subsonic aircraft having a light weight, high efficiency and a high bypass ratio.
The fan engine comprises tip turbines fixed to a tip of a fan and a pulse detonation engine (PDE) having a detonation pipe jetting a high speed exhaust stream caused by detonation to the tip turbines, wherein the tip turbines are driven by the high speed exhaust stream.
