In a steel pipe pile penetration equipment and penetration method by using the equipment comprising a rotating body provided with a chuck for grasping the outer periphery of the steel pipe pile, a lifting frame supporting the rotating body in a rotatable manner, a rotating and driving equipment for turning the rotating body installed on the lifting frame, a base frame erecting a lifting cylinder for lifting the lifting frame and a horizontal cylinder lifting the base frame, the lifting frame is equipped with a frame tilt detector for detecting the angle of tilt of the steel pipe pile and a pile tilt detector for detecting the tilt of the pile and a pile verticalness control means for adjusting the tilt of the pipe pile by controlling the horizontal cylinder based on the angle of tilt detected by the frame tilt detector and the pile tilt detector.
