Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide natural or synthetic peptides isolated from animals, including mammals and non-mammals, that prevent biofilm formation at its initial stages, in a wide range of microorganisms.SOLUTION: The present invention provides compositions comprising an isolated peptide, which may, e.g., optionally comprise a sequence selected from the group consisting of FDYDWY, SFSQNKSVHSFDYDWYNVSDQADLKN and CSFSQNKSVHSFDYDWYNVSDQADLKNC, or any cyclized version thereof, and methods of using the compositions, e.g., for treatment or prevention of microbial biofilm formation and adhesion of a cell to a surface.
