Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a new perfluoro-oxa-alkyl group-containing benzimidazole derivative useful for medicine, agricultural chemical, their raw material, water repellent and oil repellent agent, functional coloring matter, optical functional material, etc.
CONSTITUTION: A perfluoro-oxa-alkyl group-containing benzimidazole derivative of formula I (R is H, halogen, ON, nitro, aldehyde, hydroxymethyl, 1-10C alkyl, alkoxy or acyl; (m) is 1-4; (n) is 0-8) such as 2-(perfluoro-1'-methyl-oxa-pentyl) benzimidazole. The compound of formula I is obtained by reacting a perfluoro- oxa-alkanoic acid of formula II with a phenylene diamine derivative of formula III in the presence of 1,3-dicyclohexylcarbodiimide.
