PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a performance test system of an inflator for an air bag for testing the change characteristics of energy of the gas generated by the inflator, with proper reproducibility.
SOLUTION: The performance test system vertically movably arranges a disk-like piston 12, by generating a gap α in which the gas can flow with the inner peripheral face of a cylindrical tank 11, and arranges the inflator 15 in a lower chamber 16 partitioned in the tank 11 downward of the piston 12. The performance test system is provided with a pressure sensor 18 for detecting the pressure of an upper chamber 17 partitioned to the tank 11 upward of the piston 12 and a piston displacing sensor 19 for detecting the volume of the upper chamber 17 from the displacement of the piston 12. Since the inflator 15 can measure the amount of energy generated in a unit time on the basis of the pressure and volume of the upper chamber 17 after ignition of the inflator 15 and the total amount of energy generated, until a prescribed time passes after the inflator 15 has been ignited, it can be used for confirmation and regulation of a developing speed of the air bag or confirmation and regulation of check of output of the inflator 15.
