Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a periodontal scaler with a simple structure dispensing with water injection for cooling to a contact part between a tooth and a scaler tip end, and allowing an operator to easily remove a dental calculus or the like without applying so much force thereto.SOLUTION: The periodontal scaler includes: a scaler body; an eccentric motor provided inside the scaler body; and a dental tip that is provided at one end side of the scaler body and whose tip end is sonically vibrated by vibration of the eccentric motor. The frequency of the sonic vibration of the tip end of the dental tip is within a range of 20 Hz to 320 Hz. The eccentric motor includes a rotary shaft, and an eccentric weight provided at the rotary shaft. The axial direction of the rotary shaft is so disposed as to be parallel to the longitudinal direction of the long scaler body.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
