Title:
PERIPHERY MONITORING DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2008171082
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a periphery monitoring device for improving a detection speed of an approaching object to a vehicle from a back-side.

In a periphery monitoring system 1, a front-side approaching object detection unit 12 detects a front-side approaching object approaching to a vehicle from an object which has been detected by a front-side millimeter-wave radar 20 (Step S1). An object specifying unit 14 specifies the object which has been detected by the detection unit 12 as the front-side approaching object among the objects detected by a back-side millimeter-wave radar 60 (Steps S9. S11). A back-side approaching object detection unit 16 excludes the object specified by the specifying unit 14 from candidates from among the objects detected by the radar 60 and detects the back-side approaching object approaching to the vehicle (Step S12).
