Abstract:
To provide a periphery monitoring device capable of displaying images with little distortion so that a driver can always check a target parking area and the position of own vehicle when parking own vehicle in the target parking area.SOLUTION: The periphery monitoring device includes: an image acquisition part that acquires pick-up image data of the periphery of a vehicle; a target acquisition part that acquires a target parking area for guiding the vehicle; and an image generation part that is configured so as to, when guiding the vehicle to the target parking area, generate a virtual viewpoint image in which at least part of the parking area and at least part of the vehicle based on pick-up image data are continuously being included in the display area while continuously moving the position of the virtual viewpoint which is set above the vehicle toward the top according to the moving condition of the vehicle; and an output part that outputs the virtual viewpoint image on the display device.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
