PURPOSE: To obtain a large-sized permanent magnet, which is even in a magnetic manner and is superior even in a mechanical manner, by a method wherein a plurality of cast ingots are integrally formed to perform a hot processing and an anisotropy is magnetically caused.
CONSTITUTION: A permanent magnet is obtained by a method, wherein the ingots of permanent magnets, which contain a rare earth element containing praseodymium or neodymium as its main component, iron and boron as their main component and have the same composition, are manufactured by casting, a plurality of pieces of the ingots are put side by side to perform a hot processing and the plurality of the ingots are integrally formed and at the same time, a magnetic anisotropy is cuased, and the permanent magnet can be formed into a permanent magnet, whose junction interface has a bending strength of 5kgf/mm2 or stronger.
