To provide a permanent wave hairdressing method, and a winding unit for permanent wave hairdressing capable of forming a desired hair style by easily twisting hair even if the length of the hair is nonuniform.

The part in the vicinity of the tip part of the hair 21 is inserted so as to obliquely cross a sandwiching part 15 composed of a first projecting bar 13 and a second projecting bar 14 extending in parallel at a prescribed interval from a connecting part 16 for constituting the winding unit 11 for permanent wave hairdressing. When rotating the sandwiching part 15 in this state, a tip part of the hair 21 is wound round the outer periphery of the first projecting bar 13 and second projecting bar 14, and a part between the tip part and a head part 22 is wound up in a spiral shape by specific winding-up force. Thus, by continuously winding the first projecting bar 13 and the second projecting bar 14 in the direction indicated by an arrow, winding-up of the hair 21 advances up to the root of the head part 22, so that the winding-up is completed.
