PURPOSE: To provide a personal information exchanging device which can omit the exchange of conventional visiting cards made of paper, etc., by keeping the individual information in an electronic form and then transmitting this information between its owner and the opposite party via a communication means.

CONSTITUTION: When an electronic visiting card exchanger is used, the personal information of a user himself is transmitted and stored in a RAM 5 via a communication cable connected previously to a communication connector 14 from an external computer. When the personal information are exchanged between the user and his opposite party, the electronic visiting card exchangers of both sides are set close to each other and the exchange key of the input keys 7 is operated at each side. Thus, the communication function of each exchanger works and the personal information on both sides are stored in the other party RAM 5 through the radio communication carried out at an optical or radio communication part 13 of an optical communication part 12. In such a constitution, the personal information on the opposite party stored in the RAM 5 are transferred to the external computer and stored in a data base.
