PURPOSE: To provide a cableless personnel conveyor for very high buildings having a self-traveling cage.

CONSTITUTION: In the personnel conveyor, several cars can move in the same shaft at the same time. Rear and front vertically extending shaft wall strips 11, 21 positioned between the shafts have opened and closed horizontal guide channels 12, 17 for passing a cage 1 and vertical rolling tracks formed therein. The cage shows upper and lower guide rollers 7, 8 and adjustable support rollers 6, 23 mounted laterally. A battery supply frictional roller driver disposed under the cage, and a main tube supply linear driver having a linear motor stator 4 fixed to a rear wall 2 of the shaft are operated as a self-traveling cage composite driver.
