To provide a pet food capable of inhibiting rapid elevation of a blood glucose level after a pet takes the food, capable of retarding insulin secretion so that the pet is difficult to effectively absorb fat, capable of making the fat oxidized so that the fat is prevented from being accumulated in the body, and therefore having excellent obesity-preventing and-improving effects on the pet.

This pet food contains the following components (A) to (C): (A) 0.1-50 wt.% of diglyceride; (B) a sugar-absorption retardant; and (C) carbohydrate.
