Abstract:

To provide such a pharmaceutical composition in a pharmaceutical preparation containing fenofibrate of a hyperlipidemia therapeutic agent giving bioavailability higher than that of a conventional composition containing a co-micronized powder of fenofibrate and a surfactant.

The pharmaceutical composition includes 60 wt.% or more of a micronized fenofibrate relative to the composition weight, a surfactant, and a binding cellulose derivative of hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC) as a solubilizing adjuvant in a mass ratio of the fenofibrate to HPMC of from 5/1 to 15/1, wherein the HPMC has apparent viscosity of preferably 2.4 to 18 cP, and the surfactant is preferably one of the group consisting of Polysolbate(R) 80, Montin(R) 20, and lauryl sodium sulfate.
