Abstract:
To provide slow release estradiol-progesterone formulation which can be used in either contraception or hormone-replenishment therapy.
There is provided a pharmaceutical formulation with low rate of dissolution, comprises shaped particles of 1:1 molar ratio of estradiol and cholesterol, in which either or both are amorphous or polymorphic forms, and progesterone as microspheres which are 35-75 μm in diameter.
