Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve responsiveness of movement of a piston, and enable smooth and accurate reciprocation of the piston along an axis by forming thick portions and thin portions on a part of a sleeve which is embedded in a thermal expansion body.
SOLUTION: Frictional resistance is reduced between a piston 3 and a sleeve 4 for smooth reciprocation of the piston 3. In order to this, projections 4c are formed on an inner peripheral surface of the sleeve 4 for reducing contact area. Thick portions 4a and thin portions 4b are alternatively formed along an axis of the piston 3, on one end of the sleeve 4 to be inserted into a thermal expansion body. Expansion of the thermal expansion body is transmitted through the thin portions 4b for moving the piston 3. Twisting rigidity of the sleeve 4 is kept constant by means of rib-like thick portions 4a, for preventing the sleeve 4 from being twisted at the time of reciprocation. It is thus possible to secure smooth and accurate reciprocation of the piston 3, and satisfactory timing of operation for a long time.
