Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL:A compound of formulaI[R is lower alkyl, phenyl, substituted phenyl; O, S, oxidized S; n is 1W5, where when X is S, R is methyl and the cases where n is 2 are excluded].
EXAMPLE: (O-Methyl-DL-seryl)-1-aminoethylphosphonic acid.
USE: Antibacterial against gram-positive and -negative bacteria. It is converted into a nontoxic salt, which is used as a drug.
PREPARATION: For example, the condensation reaction between a protected aminoacid of formula II (A is protecting group) or its reactive derivative and aminoethylphosphonic ester of formula III is conducted in a solvent of DMF in the presence of a condensing agent such as dicyclohexylcarbodiimide and is followed by deprotection and hydrolysis to give the compound of formulaI.
