Abstract:
To provide a phosphor using yttrium oxide as a matrix material, to provide a method for producing the phosphor and to provide applications of the phosphor.SOLUTION: The phosphor contains a ceramic material having at least one kind of element selected from the group consisting of Si (silicon), Al (aluminum) and Ge (germanium) added to yttrium oxide and emits light having a peak at a wavelength in the range of 380 nm to 495 nm by irradiation from an excitation source. The method for producing the phosphor includes a step of mixing a yttrium oxide powder with an organic metal compound having at least one kind element selected from the group consisting of Si (silicon), Al (aluminum) and Ge (germanium) and molding and a step of subjecting a molded body produced in the step of molding to flash sintering.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9
