Abstract:

To provide a phosphor for stable vacuum ultraviolet excitation having a good life characteristic which displays a high luminance blue color in the vacuum ultraviolet excitation and a luminous element comprising the same.

The phosphor for vacuum ultraviolet excitation is activated by bivalent europium, represented by the following compositional formula: (Sr1-x-y, Bax, Euy)2AlnO1.5n+2 (wherein x, y and n are each a number in ranges of 0≤x≤0.25, 0<y≤0.1, 0<x+y≤0.25 and 5.0≤n≤7.0, respectively). The luminous element comprises the same.
