To provide a method for recovering phosphorus from sludge incineration ash with a sufficiently high recovery rate.
The phosphorus recovery method comprises: a first phosphorus extracting process of mixing the sludge incineration ash with a first alkaline reaction liquid and extracting phosphorus contained in the sludge incineration ash into the first alkaline reaction liquid to obtain a mixture of a first phosphorus extract and one time treatment ash; a second phosphorus extracting process of mixing the one time treatment ash with a second alkaline reaction liquid and extracting phosphorus contained in the one time treatment ash into the second alkaline reaction liquid to obtain a mixture of a second phosphorus extract and two-times treatment ash; and a third phosphorus extracting process of mixing the two-times treatment ash with a third alkaline reaction liquid and extracting phosphorus contained in the two-times treatment ash in the third alkaline reaction liquid to obtain a mixture of a third phosphorus extract and three-times treatment ash.
