Title:
PHOTO-DETECTING TUBE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH11102659
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
To provide a photo-detecting tube which selectively detects only the light of wavelength near 170 nm.
A photo-detecting tube 1 is provided with an incidence window 3 and a photocathode 5, the incidence window 3 is made of quartz glass, and the photocathode 5 is made of CsI. The quartz glass selectively transmits the light of wavelength ≥ about 115 nm, and the CsI selectively and photoelectrically converts the light of wavelength ≤ about 225 nm. Thus, in the photo-detecting tube, the peak of detecting sensitivity lies in a wavelength 170 nm, and only the light of wavelength 170 ± about 55 nm can be selectively detected without an optical band-pass filter.
