This photocatalytic body 1 is formed of wire of SUS, Ti or an alloy thereof, Cu or an alloy thereof, or Al or an alloy thereof, and also has a base 2 formed of a pressed Tatami (rush mat) like wire mesh and a porous layer 3 with 50-100 μm pore dia. consisting of sintered particles of Ti or an alloy thereof or Al or an alloy thereof and further has a photocatalytic functional layer 4 formed on the surface of the porous layer 3.
