Abstract:
PURPOSE:To cut off light completely when a body to be detected abuts crushing a pipe-shaped flexible member and to secure operation by connecting the pipe- shaped flexible member between a light emitting device and a light receiving device. CONSTITUTION:When the body A to be detected moves as shown as an arrow and abuts on the flexible pipe 2, this part of the flexible pipe 2 is crushed to cut off the light from a light emitting element 6, so that the light does not reach a light receiving element 7. Then the light emitting element 7 inputs this state as a signal to a control circuit 8 and, for example, the body A to be detected is stopped and then moved in the opposite direction from the arrow. Consequently, the influence of the shape of the body A to be detected and reflected light from the periphery is eliminated and external light exerts no influence, so the switch securely operates without malfunctioning.
