PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photoelectric conversion element having high photoelectric conversion efficiency.SOLUTION: A photoelectric conversion element has an active layer containing a perovskite compound between a cathode and an anode, and has a layer containing alkaline earth metal oxide between the cathode and the active layer. In the photoelectric conversion element, the alkaline earth metal oxide is one or more material selected from the group consisting of CaO, BaO and SrO.
