Title:
PHOTOELECTRIC SECONDARY CELL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS62108471
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve the optical recharging efficiency by making the crystal orientation of inter-layer compound powder to be employed as the material of photoelectrode such that C-axis is in parallel with the interface at the portion near to the electrolyte while normal to the surface at the portion near to the light incident face.

CONSTITUTION: A photoelectric secondary cell is formed with a photoelectrode 3 mainly composed of ZrS2-δ(0<δ<0.2) while containing at least one kind of NbS2 and Pd, Cu+ ion conductive solid state electrolyte 4, a reversible copper electrode 5 composed of compound of Cu and Cu2S and a light incident window 1. While the particles are oriented by utilizing the surface fluidity and the crystal orientation of the inter-layer compound of the photoelectrode 3 is made such that C-axis is in parallel with the interface at the portion near to the electrolyte 4 while normal to the surface at the portion near to the light incident face. Consequently, it will function as a solar cell for storing the light energy as power and also as a secondary cell, thereby the excited electrons are increased at the time of recharging with the light, resulting in improvement of the recharging efficiency.
