Title:
PHOTOGRAPHIC ELEMENT HAVING IMPROVED FERROTYPE RESISTANCE AND APPEARANCE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH1062902
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To obtain a silver halide photographic material with a magnetic recording layer having superior resistance to a physical scratch and abrasion by incorporating dispersed particles of a specified average size made of a specified polymer into the outermost protective layer of a nonphotosensitive protective overcoat.

This photographic element has a nonphotosensitive protective overcoat including a nonphotosensitive protective layer contg. dispersed fine polymer particles and a hydrophilic binder as the outermost layer. The fine polymer particles are dispersed particles of <0.4μm average size made of a polymer having at least 70°C glass transition temp. The polymer contains units derived from an ethylenic unsatd. monomer forming a practically water-insoluble homopolymer and units derived from an ethylenic unsatd. nonionic monomer forming a water-soluble homopolymer in a weight ratio of 97:3 to 80:20 and further contains <3wt.% ionic monomer.
