To provide a photographic system, photographic video image system or photographic printer effectively utilizing a data recording area on a photographic film.
A photographic video image system includes a structure of a photographic printer and comprises an image transformation element that transforms an image on a photographic film into a video signal. A frame position indicator comprised of aspect ratio information relating to a size of an exposed frame and a pore, an optical signal or an magnetic signal is recorded on the film. The frame position indicator and the aspect ratio information are detected, and a film feeding action and a transforming action from an optical image to a video signal are controlled based on them. A user of the system is capable of recording order information on the film to designate the aspect ratio of a photographic print to be created and the number of prints. When visually displaying a video signal prior to producing the photographic print, the order information can be superimposed and displayed as a menu.
