PURPOSE: To eliminate weak points in various kinds of conventional systems by controlling a film feeding means in response to a frame position control signal and an image converting means in response to an aspect ratio control signal.
CONSTITUTION: A film feeding mechanism detects a frame position signal recorded on a film, to automatically feed it. At this time, the film feeding mechanism is driven by a motor 93 and this motor 93 is controlled by a film driving circuit 94 and a system controller 95. Further, the image of a photographic film after being processed is projected on the image conversion region of a CCD 96 and the system controller 95 selects the actual width of the image conversion region, in accordance with a frame size signal detected by a detector 115 and frame size signal detecting circuits 155 and 156. Thus, an image conversion device is controlled in response to aspect ratio information detected by the detector.
