PURPOSE: To obtain various images by providing this photographing device with a means for changing the gain of only a brightness signal Y out of a video signal obtained from a camera signal processing circuit through an Y gain amplifier to change brightness.

CONSTITUTION: The level of a brightness signal (Y signal) out of a video signal converted from a subject image through a photographing lens l, a CCD 2 and the camera signal processing circuit 3 is changed by changing the gain of the Y signal gain amplifier 10 to change the brightness of the video signal. Since the photographing device is provided with a function for changing the brightness by changing the gain of the Y signal gain amplifier 10 for changing the level of the brightness signal (Y signal) of the video signal, a photographer can enjoy the photographing of video images differently from a convensional device and observers also can enjoy various screens.
